Allan Janes Ladies in the Race for Life

On Sunday 24th July a team of ladies from Allan Janes joined the Race for
Life on Wycombe Rye. This was the third year for some of them, and for others it
was their first attempt.

This was definitely the warmest year so far for the Wycombe event, so congratulations must go to Kirren Akhtar and Dilly Peeroo who completed the course in 45 minutes. The rest of the team were close behind and all finished in times less than one hour.
The latest count puts the Allan Janes Ladies fund raising at £710 for the day, but we are hopeful that this may still increase with some more promised donations.

Nick Morrison to climb Kilimanjaro

In September, Nick Morrison the Managing Partner at Allan Janes, is going to be part
of the Serious Fox Team, who will attempt to summit Kilimanjaro in aid of Marie Curie
Cancer Care. They aim to raise £50,000. Rising to 19,350 ft,(5,895m), Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and will present many challenges. The most feared obstacle will be Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) which occurs above 8,000 ft caused by the rarefied atmosphere.
This is the inability of one’s respiratory system to process sufficient oxygen relative to the muscle requirements and exertions during the climb. Common symptoms are severe headache and breathlessness, vomiting and
muscle spasm and in severe cases can result in pulmonary oedema (build up of fluid in one’s lungs) which can be life threatening. It is worth noting that many of those who have already contributed have commented that Nick has shown these symptoms whilst attending difficult completions, attending Partners' meetings and whilst playing Rugby!
We have all either personally, or through a friend or relative, had experience of this
dreadful disease. Whereas there are a number of established charities committed to
donations for a cure this is the main charity for caring for those who are terminally ill with this affliction. It provides nursing and other care in one’s own home. If you wish to support Nick and also help this charity you can do so by logging on to

Allan Janes is first in Buckinghamshire to secure new home buying mark

Allan Janes has become the county’s first legal practice to secure membership of the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme - the mark of excellence for the home buying process.

The practice underwent rigorous assessment by the Law Society in order to secure CQS status, which marks the firm out as meeting high standards in the residential conveyancing process.

Peter Collier, Partner and head of our Commercial and Property Department says: “We are delighted to have secured CQS status. It is recognition of the high standards
we provide to our residential property clients, and is a signal to future home buyers of the excellent service level we provide at what is often a stressful time for many people.
The overall beneficiaries will be our clients when buying and selling a home. They will
receive a reliable, efficient service as recognised by the CQS standard."

The CQS scheme requires practices to undergo a strict assessment, compulsory
training, self reporting, random audits and annual reviews, in order to maintain CQS
status. It is open only to members of the Law Society and to those who meet the
demanding standards the scheme will set and has the support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association, and the Association of British Insurers.

Allan Janes also holds the Law Society’s Lexcel accreditation, which recognises high practice management and customer care standards.

What our customers say...
